Hydraulic Border Intervals: Simultaneous Transmissions
On 2 October, Hydraulic Border Intervals will be activated through a simultaneous sound performance connecting the Berlin installation with Бережно, обережно, вузберіж in Zaporizhzhia, with a live performance at Пастка (pastka_elevator) in Kyiv and a transmission via Kyiv-based 20ft Radio.
What to expect
Jean-Daniel Tömör (Berlin) and Anna Dovhan (Kyiv) will work simultaneously, exchanging field recordings, live sounds, and fragments from the anti-library of Hydraulic Border Intervals, exhibited in Tieranatomisches Theater (TA T).
The field recordings draw on material collected by Valerie Karpan, Maryna Marynichenko, Clemens Poole, and Jean-Daniel Tömör. The project continues the long-term artistic research of Variable Name (Valerie Karpan & Maryna Marynichenko), exploring memory, transmission, archives, and forms of connection through participatory and multimodal practices.
The performance extends Hydraulic Border Intervals beyond the Berlin installation, bringing its sonic research into dialogue with Бережно, обережно, вузберіж in Zaporizhzhia and the live context of Пастка in Kyiv.
