Under the direction of Felix Sattler, the TA T has been developing and presenting research-driven exhibition formats since 2013, offering multilayered perspectives on material culture, collections, and institutional narratives. His curatorial approach is grounded in the integration of knowledge from a wide range of disciplines and communities.
Sattler’s projects have addressed subjects as diverse as the art and design history of unicellular algae, knowledge practices surrounding replicas, and the postcolonial controversies associated with museums and human remains. Since 2024, his research has focused on inclusive, multisensory approaches to the deep sea and marine scientific collections. In close collaboration with blind and visually impaired participants, his project DEEP_ABILITIES explores practices and theories of access, care, and the queering of the deep sea’s dark ecologies.
