Jean-Michel Alberola with a guest appearance by Aura Rosenberg and Frances Scholz

The Tieranatomisches Theater will present the exhibition COSMOS 1939: Georges Salles /Walter Benjamin by French artist Jean-Michel Alberola from September 3, 2021 to January 29, 2022. It was on view at the Centre Dominique-Vivant Denon in the Musée du Louvre from October 2018 to July 2019, and is now coming to Berlin, expanded with guest appearances by the artist duo Aura Rosenberg and Frances Scholz as well as by Chantal Benjamin, the granddaughter of Walter Benjamin.

COSMOS 1939 presents new graphic works by Alberola together with historical maps, books and photographs, based on an intellectual encounter between the thinkers Georges Salles and Walter Benjamin in Paris in 1939.

Curated by Jean-Michel Alberola, Caterina Flor Gümpel and Zora Schiffer.
